Aldo Magazzeni had an early brush with poverty. He wasborn in a poor Italian mountain town in the Abruzzo region of central Italy ina house with no running water and dirt floors. Now a successful businessman, heand his two partners in a Lumberton manufacturing company have become championsof those in need.  Aldo Magazzeni is the founder of Traveling Mercies, anon-profit organization dedicated to helping others, while creating a vehicleto remove barriers between cultures so that individuals can share theirstrengths, assets and blessings with each other. Traveling Mercies is committedto meeting the diverse needs of those suffering throughout the world. Since 1998, Aldo has traveled to, and worked with, communities in Italy,Jamaica, Haiti, Mexico, South America, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Kenya, andEthiopia.  He will share with us his stories and photographs of theplaces, the people and the work he has experienced during his travels.
