The year 2020 marks a special celebration year, commemorating the Porch Club’s 130th birthday and the 125th anniversary of two important milestones in our club’s history.
The Porch Club was founded in 1890 by a gathering of eight like-minded young women who formed a reading circle. The Club was formally organized in 1895 with twelve members. Officers were elected, and a constitution and bylaws passed. That same year we also joined the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC). With much to be proud of, we anticipate many exciting projects and gatherings that have been planned for all of you this celebratory season.
