Department




The Conservation Garden Department encourages awareness of our natural resources; and caring for the world around us. It offers information and ideas to promote environmental appreciation and protection. Members work to preserve, maintain, and restore our natural resources; protect habitats for plants and animals; and develop sustainable habits.

Our Activities Include

  • Plans trips to local organizations to learn about conservation and environmental issues.
  • Schedules visits to N.J. and PA area public gardens.
  • Organizes Biannual Porch Club Garden Tour which highlights beautiful private gardens in the community.
  • Schedules conservation and garden speakers from organizations such as Cedar Run Nature Center, Delaware River Keepers, Burlington County Master Gardeners and the Shade Tree Commission.
  • Prepares floral centerpieces and decorations for Porch Club meetings and events.
  • Plans and maintains the clubhouse and downtown gardens.
  • Holds workshops on environment-related issues, techniques and crafts.
  • Prepares award-winning entries for NJSFWC ‘s annual District and State Achievement Days.
